Barcelona forward Luis Suarez paid tributes to Uruguay national team physio Walter Ferreira after the 64-year-old sadly passed away on Sunday following a long battle with cancer. Ferreira had to cut short his cancer treatment to help Suarez at the 2014 World Cup. But his health deteriorated in recent weeks and Barcelona star Suarez says he will 'never forget' what his friend did for him.

Suarez took to his Facebook and Instagram to write a loving message to his dear friend . He wrote :

'Today, we lost more than a friend… He was a fighter who, day by day, not only fought for himself, but for everyone else. I'm never going to forget what you did for me, because you taught me many things in life and of which I have very present.

'Thank you for giving me the opportunity to play a World Cup. Thank you for everything that you gave to soccer and thank you for what a great human being who you were.I'll never forget my deepest condolences to the family. May you rest in peace, Walter.
